Karel Untermüller is a graduate of Prof. Jaroslav Ruis´ class at the Prague Conservatory, and of the Academy of Music in Prague, where his teacher was Prof. Lubomír Malý. He has attended master classes conducted by leading educators, including Norbert Brainin, Sigmund Nissel, and Thomas Kakuska. He has appeared as soloist with several Czech orchestras (the Suk Chamber Orchestra, the Pardubice Chamber Philharmonic Orchestra, the Western Bohemia Philharmonic Orchestra, and others).
Significantly, he has worked with a pre-eminent protagonist of the Czech music scene, the violinist Josef Suk with whom, plus other prominent Czech instrumentalists (Jiří Bárta, Pavel Šporcl, Jan Simon and others), he made a double CD featuring chamber works by Antonín Dvořák.
