is one of the world´s finest concert guitarists of our time. He took up guitar at the age of eight, his brother being his first teacher. He studied at the Prague Conservatory, and pursued his training with Štěpán Rak at the Academy of Music and Drama in Prague. His international career was launched by victory in the prestigious Concours International de la Guitare organized in Paris by Radio France. Steidl´s interpretive style is characterized by a refined feeling for nuances coupled with virtuoso brilliance. His repertoire encompasses virtually all periods and styles, though he has particular affinity for Baroque and contemporary music. Pavel Steidl is likewise active as a composer, frequently featuring his works in his concert programmes. The Italian magazine Guitart has listed him as one of the world´s eight leading guitarists of 2003. Two years later he received the Classical Guitar Award 2005.
